According to the Secretary-General’s 2006 in-depth study on violence against women, one of the factors that contribute to the risk of violence is the exposure to it¹. Children are especially influenced by it during their development.
The presence of domestic violence can only spawn more violence from the children in the long run. Once the child experiences the abuse as being the norm, it will become so. And it will affect subsequent relationships. So it is up to each individual to determine if the violence is to be stopped for it only generates more violence.
