Behind the curtains

Submitted by: Marta Martins

My idea was to create a poster other than those we are accustomed.
Through the use of lettering (related to domestic violence), making a sufering female figure.
What i wanted was to raise awareness through the use of words and phrases with strong meanings.
I chose to represent these words in several languages, since domestic violence is a universal act that all women in the world are subject.
The same text of the poster is in English, Portuguese, French, Spanish and Italian.
The words are:
-Physical;
-Victim;
-Deprivation;
-Choking you;
-Hurting you;
-Threats;
-Calling you a faillure;
-Denying that there is any abuse taking place;
-Throwing;
-Spitting on you;
-Unwanted;
-Telling you that your ugly;
- Burning you with cigarrets;
- Children watch too much violence;
-Slapping you;
-Isolating you;
-Object;
-Pushing;
-We also understand how it feels;
-What does it take to get people talking about domestic violence?
- Break the silence;
-Your silence is his greatest asset.

We have a duty to show the world how far man can go without any limits.
